For over 125 years the National Trust has looked after nature, beauty and history for the benefit of the nation. Our founders pledged to preserve the historical and natural places of England, Wales and Northern Ireland, not only to save important sites, but to open them up for everyone to enjoy. And today, as Europe’s largest conservation charity, these values remain at the heart of everything we do. Throughout the Trust’s history, the generosity of people is what has made the difference, one generation after another playing their part in caring for special places. Thanks to them we now look after hundreds of miles of coastline, thousands of acres of countryside, and the precious houses and collections that tell our nation’s story. Now it’s our turn to look after them for the next generation. Together, we can help nature recover, bring people closer to it, and ensure our shared history continues to inspire us all.
